Cannabis At Work: How Legalization Impacts the Industry
Few social policy changes are as far reaching as the rapid expansion of medical cannabis and the legalization of adult-use recreational cannabis. Also, few places feel the implications of this change as dramatically as workplaces. From adjusting to shifting social norms to accounting for new realities related to workplace impairment especially in safety sensitive jobs and, indeed, accommodation for patients - workplaces are gearing up for change. This presentation will delve deep into shifting landscape in Canada as well as the impact of new cannabis legalization regimes on workplaces throughout Canada.

Youth Face To Face with Industry
The 2019 NMS Youth Ambassador Program includes a total of six (three male and three female) youth ambassadors between the ages of 19 to 31 years of age currently living in Nunavut. Participants have been identified by the three active mining companies in Nunavut.

The Youth Ambassador Program will include presentations from the Amanda O’Connor (PDAC) about the Mining Matters program as well as from Doug Ashbury, NWT Chamber of Mines about the Mining North Works program. Included in their schedule are onsite visits to the Canada-Nunavut Geosciences Office, The Mining Records Office, and Resource Management of CIRNAC (formerly INAC) office as well as a tour of the City of Iqaluit. Representation of the three active mines (TMAC, Aginlo Eagle and Baffinland) will mentor the ambassadors on the Tuesday afternoon of the Trade Show to chat with the youth about the career opportunities in their mining and exploration projects.

Thursday morning, come listen and participate as industry professionals take and answer questions from our Youth Ambassador Program participants in the Face to Face with Industry Session. Dialogue will include the ambassadors’ questions about Nunavut’s’ exploration and mining industry. The ambassadors will provide a brief overview of the program that they are participating in as well as having questions ready to pose to industry, Government of Nunavut, and Inuit organization representatives. Come join us in the conversation.
